Recruitment Activities with Teen Jobs

Recruitment of Teens to Work High in the Summer

Recruitment activities for teen jobs are always high during summer. This is because this is the time of year where people go out and have their picnics, barbecues, vacations, and other outdoor activities. And more 'foot traffic' means busier businesses and busier establishments need more help.

In general, recruiting is a long and tedious process for the recruiting company. Normally, studies need to be done, a job description needs to be ironed out, job ads need to be sent, applications need to be sorted and interviews conducted.

However, since jobs for teens are normally on a contract or short-term basis, most of these recruiting procedures are foregone. Most opportunities available for teens are those that involve working at supermarkets, fast food outlets, clothes shops, and even at offices for some temporary administration work.

Recruitment of Teens Has Pros and Cons

As in most things in life, there are pros and cons to offering jobs for teens. Many people feel that teens are not responsible enough to handle even interim jobs and as such can give more headaches than help out during peak seasons.

On the other hand, many believe that teens are more enthusiastic (not surprising because for most teens this will be their first job) and more adaptable to their environment (not to mention easier when it comes to obeying orders by superiors!).

So in the end it boils down to how good a company is with recruits. Teenagers or not, the recruiting process should enable potential employers a glimpse if the candidate is good or not.
