Part time Jobs, Teenagers and AdulthoodThere are two things that mark a teenagers life: a desire to be an adult and lots of free time in between. It's a paradox that adults and teenagers would probably never understand. And an irony that lots of teenagers are putting into good use by having part time jobs. From college undergrads to honor society members and high school dropouts, teenagers today are pursuing a common goal: to find a job and release all that energy bottled up inside them. What are part-time jobs for? Good question. As a teenager, you don't really need to have a job whether it's part-time or not. As they say, you only live once and spending your young days finding jobs or thinking about your career as well as mowing a stranger's loan or inhaling fuel at a gasoline station is very far from living your life to the fullest. On the other hand, it's also a complete waste of time to spend your days further honing the one skill teenagers are naturally good at: bumming around. You see, a part-time job enables you to enjoy your days as a teenager without leading a totally aimless life. Think of the job as some sort of internship that prepares you mentally, physically and financially for the adult life. Having a genuine desire to earn money is like saying that you're slowly but surely taking control of your life and your future. But without rushing too easily into adulthood, teenagers can have a part-time job which will give them the financial freedom they are seeking and ultimately, a better understanding of the real value of money.
