Employment Opportunities with Federal Jobs

Federal Jobs are Honorable...and Come with Perks

Federal jobs are positions one can take under the United States Federal Government. Employment opportunities include a job as a special agent, federal police officers, customs officers, and others.

A federal job has always been (and perhaps always will be) seen as very honorable jobs with a pinch of mystery about them. Apart from being able to serve your country, a federal job  also has its perks. Indeed, there are benefits that regular jobs do not have.

One of the benefits of having a federal job is the salary. Federal job compensation levels are varied and fulfilling, AND a entitles you to an annual pay increase. A federal job has a pay category identified by a grade

Grades 1 to 15 has ten steps and based on an employee's performance and time in a grade, they are eligible to go up steps until they reach higher grades. However, you have a greater chance of getting a promotion with a federal job by their merit promotion system.  These promotions are based on your performance.

Another perk that comes with a federal job includes health insurance benefits and live insurance benefits. Vacation benefits in a federal job are earned by the amount of years spent in your job.

There are also programs that provide you the option of donating annual sick leave and applying to use the leave in medical or family emergencies. Paid training and tuition reimbursements on certain circumstances are another benefit of a federal job.

If you have that 'restless spirit' and want to see the world, being able to transfer to different countries and agencies (if job qualifications are met of course) is another benefit of a federal job.
